Antique-Style Silverplate Brides Basket with Emerald Green Hobnail Glass Bowl

A beautifully composed antique silverplate brides basket paired with a later vintage emerald green hobnail glass bowl, attributed to Fenton Art Glass in their sought-after Colonial Green color.

The silverplate basket features an elegant arched handle crowned with a sculptural trio of birds perched on a branch, along with delicate botanical detailing and ornate claw-style feet. The frame dates to the late Victorian / early Edwardian era and was originally designed to hold a removable glass insert.

The accompanying hobnail glass bowl is a later vintage replacement, consistent with Fenton Colonial Green production from the mid-20th century (circa 1960s–1970s). This type of replacement was common over the lifetime of brides baskets, as original glass inserts were frequently broken or updated to reflect changing decorative tastes. The pairing is visually striking, stable, and historically appropriate.

The glowing green glass lifts out easily and can be displayed separately if desired. Together, the contrast of dark, timeworn silverplate and luminous emerald glass creates a dramatic and romantic centerpiece.
